Night pictures are often very difficult. Getting enough light and a fast enough shutter speed can be tough without a tripod. Last Saturday night we were in Saugatuck, Michigan. It is a beach-side community with grand old homes, great shops, and a beautiful downtown area. We were there for dinner, but I did have time to take a few pictures. Hope you can see the beauty I saw in these images.
Image shot at 1/200th of a second. Slow enough to catch all the lights lit.
Shot at 1/1000th. Note the “unlit” spots that were there but not caught lit.
Shoreside lights across the river make for a good light painting. Shot at 1.6 seconds.
