In addition to the Japanese Garden (which was about a two-hour visit}, we visited a small portion of the rest of Meijer Gardens. These pictures are from outside of the Japanese Garden.

I love the colloquial Britishism “me mum” for “my mom”. Had a chance to visit my mom in upstate New York recently. She has a beautifully landscaped and maintained corner lot. In the Spring, she has over 1500 daffodils gracing her garden areas. The Hobbit Place is our local nursery/garden shop. They presently have a couple of pine tree topiary – or Michigan cacti – on display. So here are some images from me mum and The Hobbit. 🙂

Hopefully the calendar is right and the bitter cold of this winter is gone and Spring is peeking out from the yet lingering snow. Spring was announced this year by two contrary minded Christmas cacti. The first two shots are from our Christmas Cactus and the remaining two shots are from one that we are cactus-sitting for a snowbird wintering in Arizona. To be fair, we call our cactus a Holiday Cactus because we never know what holiday it will chose to announce; sometimes twice a year. Hope you enjoy the Spring Equinox Cacti.
