I am not sure what drives me to photograph daylilies. Heaven knows I have enough images, but perhaps it is the words of Jesus: “Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: and yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.” Growing up as a preacher’s kid, I heard this verse often. The message is really a simple one . . . don’t worry. Or in the words of Alfred E. Neuman, “What? Me worry?” Or perhaps Crocodile Dundee. “No worries mate.” Or even the Jamaican “Don’t worry. Be happy.” My hope is that these images might ease your worries.
