Japanese Garden: Lotus Plant

In Japanese gardens the lotus plant is often included in the water element(s). It is a symbol of purity of body, speech, and mind. The spent flower leaves a pod that is occasionally used in dried flower arrangements. The walkway from the previous post offered an unusual vantage point for these images of pads, flowers, and pods.
